A versatile performer and recording artist, Dr. Fleming has collaborated with Cuban ensemble Tiempo Libre (Sony release); multiple Grammy-winning opera star Renée Fleming (Decca/Mercury release); and international jazz pianist and composer Fred Hersch. Her love of the American Songbook has led her to perform as a featured soloist with: The American Pops Orchestra; Fairfax Symphony Orchestra; the Rochester International Jazz Festival; and Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra; the National Broadway Chorus; and with jazz pianist Shelly Berg; garnering praise by Jazz Weekly.
Recent musical theater and theater appearances include the role of Rose in Enchanted April, Joanne in Company, a musical review of Pretty Baby for Festival of the Arts BOCA, the New York premiere of Bill Smith’s jazz opera, Space in the Heart, at Symphony Space in NYC, and the role of Lynn in Training Wisteria in the NYC Fringe Festival.
Dr. Fleming teaches voice and developed and heads a masters of music in vocal pedagogy degree with a music theater and pop/rock emphasis at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Some of those she has taught and given masterclasses and presentations for include: the national tour of Billy Elliot, The Aspen Music Festival, The Eastman School of Music, The National Association of Teachers of Singing, Polyphony Foundation in Israel, The Actors Studio MFA program at The New School, The Eastman School of Music Community Division, American University, and the University of Miami, Frost School of Music.
